Carburetor Tips
& Troubleshooting
* Take
the time to properly jet your bike. It will make a
bigger difference that any bolt on part.
* Clean your carb at least once a year. FCR Carbs
are very sensitive to dirt and have a few common
wear parts.
* Do not take out or adjust your TPS sensor unless
you have the proper tools, specs, and know what you
are doing.
* If you clean your carb, pay close attention to the
position of the removable plate on the slide. This
often gets put on upside down.
* If you have problems with your hot start seizing,
install a PC hot start nut. Use teflon tape to seal
the threads. Also use shrink tube to seal ruber seal
to nut and cable.
Please email me if you
have any questions or if you would like me to help
you through any of these steps.

Modern 4-stroke FCR carburetors are the
most advanced, complex, & sensitive carbs ever found on a dirt
bike. They work very well when clean and correctly
adjusted. They can also be a nightmare if this is not done. Your
after-market pipe, cam, piston, & big bore can actually make
your bike slower if you don't have your carburetor jetted
properly.
